We’re looking for a skilled 3D environment artist to contribute to a new game prototype currently in the works. This is initially a short term project, looking to build and integrate some key playable areas based on concept art in the works.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previously worked on released game titles, be able to match visual styles in geometry and texture approach, setup and test assets in engine and have experience in collaborating with a development team.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of our busy, close-knit crew working either in-house at our central Cardiff studio, hybrid or remotely!


  • Collaborate with the art director and game designers to create 3D environments and assets that bring the game to life
  • Create worlds that service the storyline and contribute to the immersive nature of the game
  • Shape the 3D environments to best fit the game mechanics
  • Optimize assets, such as buildings, terrain, props, and other elements that make up the game world. Working with the developers to ensure the assets meet performance and memory constraints.
  • Communicate with the wider team to ensure assets integrate seamlessly into the game.
  • Create, iterate, and refine work from feedback
  • Work with initiative and to schedule milestones


  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in creating 3D environment assets for games
  • Experienced using industry-standard 3D modelling and texturing software (such as Blender, Substance etc.)
  • Good understanding of real-time rendering and game engines (such as Unity)
  • Strong understanding of composition, colour theory, and lighting
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen sense of design
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to match existing styles and interpret references, take direction and respond to feedback
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; proactive in approach to work

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Understanding Unity game engine and art implementation
  • Have worked on commercially released game title(s)
  • Interest in/worked on narrative RPG games

Offer and Duration

  • Initial 1 month contract with potential for extension
  • Salary range: £30k – £35k per annum
