VR for Kids and Tales from CMC
What a week we had! Together with Cloth Cat Animation, Thud Media headed to The Children’s Media Conference in Sheffield, and as always, there was plenty to discover, discuss and enthuse about.
With a lineup of insightful sessions, planned meetings and the likelihood of interesting chance encounters we headed in to showcase our work and talk games, apps and interactive kids content.
Highlights: Multi-platform Content, VR, Play
Our conference highlights include the Ethics and Business VR sessions, and it was great to hear a sentiment we share that VR can be a shared and social experience.
Underlining one of the igniters for Thud‘s creation, the IP 360 session covered the life and success of a brand across multiple platforms. Emphasising playing to the strengths of each with storyline and characters brought to life in meaningful ways.
And there was the small matter of a Creative Keynote with comedy duo Dick n Dom! Contributing their success to having a great team and most of all promoting investment in silly!
The digital art exhibit at the Playground this year offered a whole range of innovative games, apps, toys, tech and VR to play with too; the handmade paper craft city featured in the Future Aleppo Project was excellent.
We also enjoyed having opportunities to share a prototype of our latest VR project. The Spongebob delegate bag came in handy for toting our GearVR around!
See You Next Year
All in all, a busy and brilliant three days. Great to catch up with our fellow creatives and get a taste of what’s up in the world of children’s media.
We have a busy year ahead in our own world of interactive design with several kids properties on the slate. Consequently we’re already looking forward to sharing that work at next year’s Children’s Media Conference!
